back from field camp!wow.7 days passed by quite smoothly.not a lot of tekan other than for some stupid mistakes some selfish idiots made.but nvm.forget abt the unhappy stuff.
on the 20th jan 2006,the 3 companies of the more lao jiao recruits of BMTC sch 2 embarked on a journey which marked the start of their field camp.7 days outfield.no contact with the outside world.7 days full of activities.7 days of hell.the nights b4 field camp weren't exactly relaxing either.busy packing our field packs,rations n camp equipment.the first day was a total rush for me.after drawing arms,me n my armskote assistants practically had no time to rest.we had to gather with all out stuff,ready to start our 8 km route march to our 1st campsite.bleah.tiring leh the route march with field pack fully packed with clothes,rations n camp equipment,not forgeting sbo with 2 full waterbottles.finally after ard 2 hrs,we reached our 1st campsite.rubber tree plantation.den was setting up of basha n digging of drainage.after lunch,we had lectures n practise of wad was taught.soon,night fell n we had some rest cos it was quite dark.so cant have any more lectures or lesson.i cant believe my luck man.i was actually picked randomly to do sentry lor.sian.had less sleep than the rest.argh.nvm.2 hrs only.straight after duty,i went straight to sleep.too shagged.
the next day,after having breakfast,we were told to put on camo.haha.den we had lectures n practise again.tt day,we were taught range card n some other IFC stuff like judging dist n target indication.on the 3rd day, we had our IFC test.haha.guess i did quite ok la.pass can liao.cos i wanna pass BMT!!no recourse pls.haha.on day 4,we marched off to our 2nd campsite.oil palm plantation.it was a day most of us were looking forward to since field camp started.field routine!we had fresh rations for lunch n dinner,a short 5 min field shower as well as our re-supplies.woohoo.this oso meant tt half of fieldcamp is over.yeah.great morale booster.once again,we pitched our basha n rested our day away.lunch was great cos western was served.the next day we had the chance to shoot blanks during fire movement.quite fun other than the proning around oil palm trees.shortly after the practise at section level,we had the fire movement test.haha.den in the evening we had to march off to our 3rd n last campsite-reclaimed land.no one had any idea why the sudden change of plans.tt night we slept only on groundsheets.no shelter overhead.den in the middle of the night,it started pouring.thx a lot.freezing cold in the rain.we were evacuated into training shed.it was a cold n squeezy night.oso on tt night,i lost my helmet.damn sad.had to make do with someone else's helmet.bleah.the next day was trench-digging day.first was shell scrape which is like a shallow hole for us to prone in to fire.we're oso gng to sleep in tt fateful hole tt night.juz like a cemetry.suay la.i got a spot tt was super hard to dig with all the plants n hard soil.half way digging i got a huge piece of granite.darn.after tt,each section had to dig one fire trench each.the soil was much better.but this time it had to be deep cos when u stand inside,u can only be at most a fig 15.lol.my section did a not bad job i had to say.lol.tt day was a day of fresh rations too.lunch again was great.western again.haha.soon after dinner,we went back to our individual shell scrape to sleep.last night man.everyone's super excited.den in the middle of the night,poor me got bitten by sth which caused me to wake up.it bit me on my head lar.darn thing.quite painful.the medic suspected it was a centipede bite.luckily it wasnt serious.the next day,we had another fire movement b4 moving off to old SISPEC for BIC which marks the end of field camp.BIC was tough man.all the crawling in the hot sun was tiring man.but after completing it.there was a sense of achievement.I SURVIVED FIELD CAMP!!haha.
after tt was back to company line for store maintenance n cleaning of rifle.blanks make the rifle super dirty man.den yesterday morning,we booked out for cny.yea.long awaited cny break man.time to relax a bit but cant eat too much cos after tt will be SIT test.bleah.booking in on thurs but meanwhile shall juz go n enjoy.looking forward to class gathering.
