back from a short ord trip to taipei + bangkok with a few of my army pals-wL,hh n vincent. frankly speaking it's just an ok trip.rather disappointed with taipei's weather--not cold enough!!haha.was expecting something colder.the wind only came on the day before departure.argh.haha.one thing tt surprised us is tt the people there are dressed for winter when the outdoor temperatures can be higher than indoor temp.haha.  we visited some of the tourist attractions like the chiang kai shek memorial hall,taipei storyland,101,shih lin night market,etc.    shopping was a disaster cos of the weather.long-sleeves n jackets were aplenty but not the stuff that we need in the tropics here.haha.we travelled around in taipei by the mrt.was quite impressed by their mrt system.convenient n frequent.we seldom wait more than 4 mins for a train to arrive.their train etique is oso respectable.so is their escalator etique.take my hats off them.more pics on facebook! bangkok was a short stay.thankfully we had vincent's friend drive us around on the busy streets of bangkok.saw the lightings for their king's 80th birthday.a really grand event there.well.this trip is a nice break from singapore.quite fun. well...now it's time to hunt for job.haha. |
